Naan! Pizzas! Naan Pizzas!

Spruce up that old recipe for homemade pizzas and give it an Indian flare. Sooo delish pared with a glass of Riesling..

You wont regret trying this new take on the traditional pizza we all love;

mmmm…add whatever veggies/meat you like…I love prosciutto, olives, red pepper, marinara, jalapenos, lots of curry, basil, and motz cheese…the naan is so soft and delicious you will NEVER forget this Indian style pizza.

I followed this basic recipe and added whatever I wanted to the toppings:

INGREDIENTS
1 shop-bought naan2 teaspoons tomato pulp (chopped and sieved tomatoes) from a jar (or other tomato sauce)70g drained mixed mushrooms antipasto from a jar75g fontina cheese, roughly chopped

3 stalks thyme

1.Preheat the oven to 220°C/gas mark 7. Lay the naan on a lined baking sheet.2.Spread the tomato pulp or sauce over the naan, then tumble the drained mushrooms on top and sprinkle with the chopped cheese, before finally strewing with the thyme leaves stripped from the stalks.3.Cook in the oven for about 5 minutes, by which time the cheese should be bubbling and melted. Be careful not to burn your mouth.

Is it possible to “delete” someone out of your life?

With technology at a higher peak than any of us could imagine, there is a certain question I have been asking myself lately after lots of cocktails, as well as a lot of contemplation..

Can you truly “delete” someone (via cell phone. or cyberspace) out of your phonebook, facebook, etc?? I mean, after a few drinks it is easy to believe you can press delete and move on with your life, but do your thoughts ever really leave you? Honestly, it’s near to impossible….so bueno suerte to all of you who will try…

I think that trying to delete someone will indefinitely end up making you wonder more and more about that person…Ok, so you get drunk and want to text them..but you don’t have their number, so you don’t look like a pathetic ass, (that’s a plus) but then you know that you will eventually end up hounding your friends for their number or just resort to facebook…orrr cry yourself to sleep..and then, in turn end up looking and feeling like a pathetic ass reaching for a bottle of tylenol in the morning…

Nowadays, there are wayyy too many connections between friends and friends of friends of friends of friends of people (or in this case of that person) you think that you might want to “delete” from your memory..

This my friends, makes it near to impossible to just, as we like to think we can, “put ourselves in a state of disillusion,” where we can “not give a shit” about the obvious…but, in reality it is always a situation that we cannot escape.

In conclusion, “deleting” someone from your memory is something than can only be seen in films like “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” where someone is hired to erase your memory of a tragic subject…In reality..I guess it’s something we just have to learn to cope with, understand and become stronger about with time.

A runway style that’s simple to re-create…

Normally runway styles are next to impossible to capture using elements out of your own wardrobe and outlandishly priced. The new trend i am likin’ right now is so simple to create with things most people already have.

Military is all the rage right now; khaki and army green colors mixed with a rope style belt, aviators and don’t forget those baggy cargo capris that were in when we were in high school! If you are lucky enough to have held on to them, recycle them, because people will think you just bought them when you pair them with the right accessories, shoes, etc. You can even use one of your mom or dad’s old oversized military colored button up tops and add some cheap pins to it, roll up the sleeves and be set. This brings me to my next point- before you throw something out or give it away, rethink it’s potential in the future of fashion. Note to self: Now more than ever it seems everything at one point really is new again when it comes to fashions. (wasn’t military in style when we were in middle school?)

Check out some ways to accomplish this look easily with things you most likely have had for years..

A sweet treat without the guilt.

Love, love, love this delicious (and much healthier) version of the infamous key lime pie martini which normally has the same amount of calories as two slices of pie.

This version that does not disappoint featured on The View and is one of the Hungry Girl cocktails is a sweet summer treat that wont make you not want to wear your bikini to the beach. Try it!

Kickin’ Key Lime Pie Martini

A childhood favorite, revisited.

I recently had a friend who was going to Ft. Lauderdale ask me if i knew of any good places to go and instantly the only place that came to my mind was the Mai-Kai Restaurant which my family would frequently drive to when I was a kid.

The bamboo decor, waterfalls and bridges that make up the restaurant make the Mai-Kai a one of a kind hidden little paradise that you don’t have to hop on a plane to reach.

The polynesian atmosphere and food make for a unique and fun experience; not to mention the food is absolutely delicious. With items like the pupu platter as an appetizer, entrees such as the panang curry shrimp, the macadamia nut ice cream for dessert and several vegetarian options as well, nobody can complain.

I have not been back in quite a while, but I look forward to the next time I will. Being asked about what to do in Ft. Lauderdale reminded me of what a treasure this place is. I took a look at the drink menu online and considering the last time I went to Mai-Kai I was probably around 12 years old, I am eager to go back and be 22 and able to sit back, enjoy the atmosphere, food and a ginormous alcoholic beverage served in a coconut with an umbrella sticking out. Sounds like paradise. If you are in Ft. Laudy anytime soon, please check it out because it is truly something to see and experience.
